Who doesn’t love a games night?

games night
At the risk of sounding older than I am…Does anyone else love having game nights?

Since we brought our house we don’t really go on nights out as much. It’s not that we can’t afford to go out or don’t enjoy nights out but just that now we are settled we don’t need to go out as much. I still love a night out with my friends but I don’t want to go out quite as often anymore.
However, I do like inviting people round to ‘our place’ and what better reason to invite people around than a games night! Woop Woop!
Trivial Pursuit, Logos, Poker. Whatever the game it’s always great fun! You get some drinks and snacks in and you are set for the night!
A few Sundays ago we decided to have a Trivial Pursuit night instead of going to the local pub quiz (it’s got really bad lately) and it was so much fun! We played couples (I don’t like being by myself) and my boyfriend and I won! Yay.
And the best bit…Guess what our answer to the final winning question was…
…’Fart!’ My bf didn’t actually expect this to be the answer I don’t think, but my friend, with a gobsmacked look on her face said ‘Yes I have to give you that’. And so we won that game. Brilliant.
Since then we have had a few games nights and have branched out from just Trivial Pursuit to Cluedo, Smart Ass and The Chase!
Do you have games nights? If so what are your favourite games to play?

I love games… on New Years Eve my boyfriend, my best friend, her fella and I all booked a hotel room and… stayed in playing Monopoly and Nerf Bullseye. Epic.

I’m currently in the middle of buying a house, and as soon as I move in game night will ensue!

Awesome NYE! Good luck with the big move in…I remember how stressful buying our house was, so if yours if the same then you will deserve a good games night by the end of it!

I’m hoping it will all go smoothly… they want to be out soon, I want to be in soon… what could go wrong? (Famous last words – check back in a couple of weeks and no doubt I’ll be curled up in a corner somewhere!)

I’m sure it will all go swimmingly. If both parties are able to just get one with it, it should be fairly painless! :)

Completeley agree! Games nights are fab!
We have a large table skittles set made by my husband’s grandad in the 1940’s which is still great to play.
Plus several other card and board games such as Somerset Monopoly, Scrabble, Pit and The Great Game of Britain! :-) x
