In case you hadn’t noticed, it’s rather hot here in the UK at the moment! The sunny weather is wonderful, it puts people in a good mood, we can wear pretty light floaty clothes, drink pimms and eat ice cream, but the downside…it makes even the mildest of exercise a lot harder and you sweat…a lot.
I’ve been keeping up with my running. If I don’t want to run I don’t, and when I do I only go as far as I feel like so I’m not exactly pushing myself…but it is so hard in this heat! Even a 10am run on a Saturday morning was a major struggle. So to get around this I had to focus on my before work runs…and start them even earlier! Its surprising how warm it already is a 5.45, but it is such lovely conditions to jog in!
I have been really enjoying these early morning jogs, it’s bright dry and on the best days there is a little breeze and as a surprising result of these warm morning runs I have discovered I LOVE running in shorts!!
I didn’t think that would happen…I was a fan of running tights because of the way they hold it all in but one morning when I couldn’t bare the thought of covering my legs up in the heat, my eyes strayed to the running shorts I had brought months ago but never actually worn. I thought ‘Why not, lets give it a go’…and I am so happy that I did. They are comfortable and cooling and I barely notice the thigh wobble! Horray!
