I think I have definitely caught the running bug – I have signed up to do the Birmingham Half Marathon again!
I have been getting into running recently and although I wasn’t putting pressure on myself to achieve anything other than ‘try to run regularly’, I started seeing myself improve – and then I proved it when i ran Race for Life. Then I started to want to push myself again. I wanted to try different running workouts…and I wanted to track them!
And that is when this S*** got serious. I brought a Garmin Forerunner 310xt…and then I signed up to run the Great Birmingham Run again.
I did this half marathon last year, but never really trained, and pretty much kept walking throughout it. It took a long time. This year I want to do it properly. I want to actually run it all!
Plus – If I am doing it, I am doing it for a good cause.
I have decided to run for the Bobby Moore fund for Cancer Research. They work hard to research and raise awareness of Bowel Cancer. The illness which killed both Bobby Moore and my Dad, so it seemed like a great choice of charity.
With the training already going well, it’s time to start the fundraising….by selling cakes!
